Bunkhouse Leather

Several years ago when I was looking for a good used saddle, I was referred to Lew Pewterbaugh and Bunkhouse Leather in Bandera, Texas.

At the ripe age of 12 Lew began picking up old saddles that were in need of repair and cleaning and found there was a market for good used tack. Trial and error and a few good books started him on his way to his new found love. Lew has often referred to the history of tack and its many facets as his "passion" which helps me understand how he can master his craft and have so much knowledge in his field. Now in his 60's, Lew writes a monthly article in the Texas Horse Talk magazine to share some of his expertise and it's well worth the reading.
